Sustainable Cherry Hill is an an all volunteer organization to promote global sustainability at a local level. SCH's mission is to shift into a sustainable way of life through small changes in one's daily lives. This "green" organization spreads the word by educational events, networking opportunities and community support.
Who does this organization help and why?
Sustainable Cherry Hill seeks out to help the environment by progressing into a sustainable future with the help of its people. Located in Southern New Jersey, SCH wants an educated and empowered populace to make a difference collectively.
How do they help?
Their task forces, comprised of passionate members and supporters have several areas to make a change. The Art and Sustainability Task Force involves and informs the Cherry Hill community and the surrounding region through artistic means. The Garden Task Force provides educational opportunities to teach those about a sustainable, healthy lifestyle. Other task forces help in building a green land by gardening and creating awareness of sustainable goals and helping the environment.
What elements of their organization do you think you might want to emulate in your own project and why?
The most admirable part of their organization is that they try so hard to educated people on creating a sustainable future which in turn will help us too. This organization truly wants to make a change. I would like to emulate this in my own project to bring a community of people together with the same love of food, sharing their recipes. Bringing people together is the start of making a difference.
